The Historic Transport Club was established in1974 by a group of Devon based enthusiasts who shared a passion for classic and vintage vehicles.  Since that time the club has flourished and continues to welcome enthusiasts with an interest in all forms of transport.  Our members own a wide range of vehicles from veterans, eligible for the annual London to Brighton Run, cars, commercials and bikes from the 1920's and 1930's through to modern classics from the eighties, nineties and newer.  The Club itself is the owner of a 1948 Leyland Octopus Tanker.  For forty years the club organised the annual Devon Coastal Run but now concentrates on smaller events for its members and friends with the emphasis being on enjoying the company of fellow members and enthusiasts.  The club "day" is the third Tuesday of each month.  In the summer months these events include road runs, treasure hunts, pub meets, vehicle gatherings and the annual summer barbecue.  In the winter months we meet in the evening at The Ley Arms at Kenn, near Exeter EX6 7UW for an optional supper followed by a speaker, quiz or just a convivial chat.
